Oak and Ivy is: Matt Harrison and Kathryn Bullington.
Formed in 2001, they have together and separately
performed before audiences of one to one thousand
in coffee shops, cafes, churches, street corners, festivals and pubs.
Come on out and see us some time!


Matthew was born and raised in Danville, PA. He studied the trumpet
from ages 11 to 18 under a private instructor,became first chair in the symphonic band
and was awarded a position in the district band his sophmore, junior and senior years.
During the summer of eighth grade,
Matt was encouraged by his grandfather, Samuel F. Harrison,
to learn the guitar. After that summer of plucking away on the old
Harmony electric and a Mel Bay Book, Matt joined a local original rock band and
started his journey to learn how to play strings and to apply music theory to performance!
From the beginning, Matthew has developed a love for many types of music
and a love of playing many instruments. He also has appeared on National Television:
on The History Channel with the History Alive! Boys
and on Country Music Television with the Hard Coal Boys
He currently performs in various other groups on the
guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, accordian, trumpet or bass

The little Big Band
The Folk and Blues Band




Kathryn was Born in Lake Arrowhead, California and moved to Danville, PA in
the Fourth grade. She was a drummer in the school band and in
the seventh grade she started studying the Flute.
Kat got her first acoustic guitar when she was 16 and has taught herself to play
a little mandolin, violin and banjo. She too has cultivated
a love of many types of music. It is her
hard driving rythmn that forms the backbone of the group.
she is currently studying Political Science
and Sustainable Agriculture at
Penn State University.

Together, Mat and kat, as Oak and Ivy, typically play a variety of
Folk, Bluegrass, blues, Classic Rock and Celtic music.
Driven with a desire to open peoples minds to new ideas and
to a better appreciation for truth, love and sustainability,
Oak and Ivy hope to inspire everyone to enjoy life to the fullest
and always remember to appreciate the share of this life that has been given to us!
